STORING YOUR CERAMETIX FILTERS DURING NON-USE:
Cerametix Gravity Feed Filters can be stored for an extended period if they are properly cleaned and dried beforehand. Here’s a guide to safe storage:
Clean Thoroughly: Before storing, clean the filters according to the manufacturer’s guidelines to remove any residual contaminants (please refer to the filter manual for cleaning instructions).
Dry Completely: Allow the filters to air dry in a clean, well-ventilated area. They must be completely dry to prevent mold or bacterial growth during storage.
Store in a Cool, Dry Place: Once dried, store the filters in a sealed, airtight container or bag in a cool, dry environment. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity.
Shelf Life:
If stored correctly, the filters can last indefinitely without degrading. However, it’s a good idea to inspect them before reuse to ensure they are still in good condition. Re-prime the filters before installing them to restore optimal functionality.
If you are unsure about their condition after storage, it’s best to err on the side of caution and replace them.
