Both PureSync Original configurations
provide comprehensive drinking water
filtration. The difference is the
specialized media used in Stage 3.
With Fluoride Reduction
Our fluoride reduction configuration
combines the system’s advanced nanofiber
and carbon block filtration with
specialized Stage 3 media selected
to target fluoride and provide
additional treatment for a range
of water quality concerns.
Using complementary adsorptive and
catalytic technologies, this media
offers treatment mechanisms relevant
to certain dissolved metals,
ammonium, chlorine, chloramine,
and select organic compounds,
including some VOCs and pesticides.
Together, the four filtration stages
are designed to address fluoride,
chlorine, chloramine, lead, mercury,
PFAS, VOCs, microplastics, cysts,
and other unwanted substances,
while preserving naturally occurring
beneficial minerals.
Fluoride can be present in both
municipal and private well water.
Some municipalities add fluoride
to drinking water, while fluoride
can also occur naturally in groundwater.
Without Fluoride Reduction
Our standard configuration combines
advanced electropositive nanofiber
filtration, premium carbon block
technology, complementary Stage 3
filtration, and final carbon polishing.
This combination is designed to
address chlorine, chloramine,
lead, mercury, PFAS, VOCs,
microplastics, cysts, and other
unwanted substances without
a dedicated fluoride reduction stage.
How to Decide
If fluoride reduction is a priority,
the specialized configuration is
designed to provide additional
treatment mechanisms while retaining
the benefits of the other three
filtration stages.
If fluoride reduction is not a
priority, the standard configuration
provides comprehensive filtration
for a broad range of common
drinking water contaminants.
Your municipal water quality report
or private well testing can help
identify fluoride concentrations
and other water quality concerns.
These updated filtration configurations
allow you to select the option that
best aligns with your household’s
current water quality priorities.
If you’re unsure which option is
right for you, our team is happy
to help.
Contaminant reduction and filter service
life vary depending on incoming water
chemistry, contaminant concentrations,
flow rate, contact time, and household
usage. Specific reduction capabilities
depend on the filtration media and
available performance testing.
Stage 1 — Electropositive Nanofiber Filtration
Advanced electropositive filtration technology
designed to capture bacteria, viruses, cysts,
and ultrafine particles while maintaining
strong water flow.
Stage 2 — Advanced Carbon Block Filtration
A premium American-made carbon block
manufactured with 100% coconut shell
activated carbon.
Its 0.5-micron nominal filtration rating
provides fine particulate filtration
alongside broad chemical contaminant
reduction.
This stage is designed to reduce chlorine,
chloramine, lead, mercury, volatile organic
compounds (VOCs), PFOA/PFOS, and certain
emerging contaminants, including pharmaceuticals.
It also provides mechanical reduction
of microplastics and certain cysts,
including Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
The combination of high-performance
activated carbon and fine particulate
filtration complements the electropositive
nanofiber stage, contributing to the
system’s broad contaminant-reduction
capabilities.
Stage 3 — Advanced Contaminant Reduction
This stage provides additional
contaminant reduction through
specialized filtration media selected
for your system configuration.
With Fluoride Reduction:
Specialized Fluoride & Contaminant Reduction
Our fluoride reduction configuration
features specialized filtration media
selected to address fluoride while
providing complementary treatment
for a broader range of water
quality concerns.
Combining advanced adsorptive and
catalytic filtration technologies,
this stage complements the system’s
carbon block filtration with additional
treatment mechanisms for select
dissolved contaminants and
chemical impurities.
These mechanisms are relevant to
the treatment of certain dissolved
metals, ammonium, chlorine,
chloramine, and select organic
compounds, including some VOCs
and pesticides.
The specialized media works alongside
the system’s nanofiber filtration,
advanced carbon block, and final
carbon polishing stages.
Without Fluoride Reduction:
Complementary Contaminant Filtration
This configuration uses complementary
filtration media to provide additional
contaminant reduction as part of
the four-stage system, without a
dedicated fluoride reduction cartridge.
Stage 4 — Final Carbon Polishing
A final carbon filtration stage
provides additional polishing to
refine drinking water’s taste and odor.
Together, the four stages provide
comprehensive drinking water filtration
while retaining naturally occurring
dissolved minerals.
The PureSync Original replacement pack
combines multiple filtration technologies
selected for complementary contaminant
reduction.
Electropositive Nanofiber Filtration
Advanced electropositive filtration
technology is designed to capture
bacteria, viruses, cysts, and extremely
fine particles while maintaining
strong water flow.
Advanced Carbon Block Filtration
The advanced carbon block used in
Stage 2 has performance data validated
through internal testing and independent
third-party laboratories.
Manufactured using 100% coconut shell
activated carbon, this premium American-made
filter features a 0.5-micron nominal
filtration rating.
It is designed to reduce chlorine,
chloramine, lead, mercury, PFOA/PFOS,
VOCs, certain pharmaceuticals,
microplastics, and other emerging
contaminants.
Its materials are certified by
NSF International to NSF/ANSI
Standard 42 material requirements.
Contaminant-reduction performance
is documented separately from
this certification.
Specialized Stage 3 Contaminant Reduction
The fluoride reduction configuration
incorporates specialized adsorptive
and catalytic filtration technologies
selected to target fluoride and
provide additional treatment
mechanisms for other water
quality concerns.
These technologies have potential
applications involving select
dissolved metals, ammonium,
chlorine, chloramine, and certain
organic compounds.
The configuration without dedicated
fluoride reduction provides
complementary contaminant filtration
as part of the four-stage system.
Final Carbon Polishing
The fourth stage provides additional
carbon filtration to refine drinking
water’s taste and odor.
Manufacturer testing provides
information about filtration
capabilities under defined conditions.
Actual performance and service life
can vary depending on incoming water
quality, contaminant concentrations,
flow rate, contact time, household
usage, and other operating conditions.
The treatment mechanisms associated
with individual filtration media
do not necessarily establish verified
reduction performance for every
contaminant in the finished cartridge.

documentation below.
Stage 1 — Nanofiber Performance Data
For optimal performance, we recommend
replacing your PureSync Original filters
approximately every
6–12 months.
Replacement frequency depends on household
size, water consumption, incoming water
quality, and overall system usage.
Larger households or homes with higher
water consumption will often benefit
from replacement closer to every
6–8 months,
while smaller households with lighter
usage may be able to go longer.
These recommendations are based on
our experience supporting Greenfield
filtration systems in real-world
household conditions.

How to Tell When It’s Time to Replace Your Undersink Filters
Replacement instructions are included
with your filter pack to make
maintenance straightforward.
PureSync Original is designed to retain
naturally occurring dissolved minerals,
including calcium and magnesium,
throughout the filtration process.
An optional inline mineralizer is
available for customers who prefer
additional mineral enrichment
or a different taste profile.
Because the filtration system already
retains naturally occurring dissolved
minerals, this add-on is entirely optional.
This four-stage replacement pack is
intended for compatible PureSync Original
undersink filtration systems.
Our updated filtration configurations
allow you to choose the option that
best suits your water quality priorities,
with or without dedicated fluoride
reduction.
If your system includes an older
copper structuring device or you are
unsure which replacement filters
your system requires, our team
is happy to help identify the
correct configuration.
