$78.00$107.00

CERAMETIX FILTERS ARE CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK. (View our brand new Ceramic Gravity Filter here, in stock now!)

Aquametix and Cerametix gravity feed filters are among the finest made filters in the world and are proudly made in the USA and are compatible with Berkey units.

Filter Descriptions

  • Aquametix – Broadband contaminant removal including difficult to remove contaminants such as nitrates and fluorides.  Features 10 micron filtration for a faster drip rate.
  • Cerametix –  Broadband contaminant removal including difficult to remove contaminants such as nitrates and fluorides.  Also features a diatomaceous earth ceramic outer shell which filters out fine sediment and microbes down to .2 microns with a slower drip rate. The Cerametix filter is washable whereas the Aquametix filter cannot be washed. Recommended for wild, raw or city water.
  • Mineral Bag – Add our mineral bag to your gravity feed filter to increase pH and provide beneficial health enhancing minerals. Includes Zeolite, Magnesium Oxide, and Calcium

Aquametix Filtering Capacity (two filter configuration)

  • 2300 gallons – chloramines
  • 1500 gallons – lead, mercury
  • 640 gallons – fluoride

Filtering capacity is lower for the Cerametix due to a smaller carbon core but microbes removal is enhanced due to its .2 micron diatomaceous shell.

Filters are designed to be installed in the top reservoir of your gravity feed system and will completely replace all existing filters. Do not mix filter types. Mineral bag is placed in the bottom reservoir.

Cerametix Filters are fragile and must be handled with care. Do not drop, jostle, or overtighten or breakage may occur.

Do not perform red dye tests on these filters as it will significantly reduce filter life.

These filters require at least 2-4 reservoirs run through and emptied but possibly more to relieve initial taste associated with new filter.

Priming not required.

The Aquametix and Cerametix do not contain activated alumina like Berkey filters.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & COMPARISON CHART

DO YOUR GRAVITY FEED FILTERS ADDRESS FLUORIDE?

In lab tests, Cerametix showed a 97.5% fluoride reduction rate, Aquametix showed a 99.99% fluoride reduction rate. The Nano-Fiber filter has not yet been tested for fluoride removal.

HOW LONG DO THE GRAVITY FEED FILTERS LAST?

The Cerametix filters will last approximately 8 months with 2 filters (500 gallons per filter.) Aquametix filters will last approximately 1 year with 2 filters (750-1000 gallons per filter). Nano-Fiber filters will last approximately 1 year with 1 filter (2500 gallons.) Please note, replacement time will vary based on water dynamics/usage.

IF I LEAVE TOWN CAN I LEAVE MY FILTERS IN THE GRAVITY FEED?

If filters will be unused for an extended period of time, empty the reservoir of water and remove the filters. Rinse them, let them dry, and store them in a cool, dark place. When you’re ready to use them again, simply rinse them and re-install. Re-priming is not needed.

CAN I USE A RED-DYE TEST WITH THESE FILTERS?

Red-dye tests are not recommended as they are ineffective and will damage the filters, potentially making them unusable. Strip tests can be purchased and used to gauge when replacement is needed.

ARE THESE FILTERS 3RD PARTY TEST AND NSF CERTIFIED?

Our Cerametix and Aquametix filters are certified by NSF and have been 3rd party tested. The Nano-Fiber has been third-party tested and meets or exceeds NSF standards, however it has not been certified by NSF. Both filters are IAPMO certified and third party EPA certified lab tested.
